Between us, we spend considerably more than $50 - and they certainly didn't raise a fuss because I didn't purchase a cigar. My husband and I went to the Carnegie Club together - I had two cocktails (no cigar) and my husband had a cigar plus two cocktails.
They seem to be flexible on the tobacco portion, though, as long as at least some of your party orders cigars, such as if only one of a couple smokes cigars, or perhaps 4 people in a party of six order cigars, but all six order a drink or two. General Info: The cigar menu states that there is a minimum purchase of $25 per person, of which at least $15 needs to be tobacco. Finally, the cigar menu, though not huge, has a pretty good selection of cigars. Third, the cocktails are delicious and the small plates menu looks good (we didn't order any food as we went here for drinks before a dinner reservation nearby).
Second, the service is quite good - friendly without being intrusive. First, the atmosphere is beautiful, evoking an earlier time, with beautiful traditional leather, wood, upholstered furnitureĪnd decor evoking the 1920s or earlier. If you are a cigar lover, or married to one like I am, the Carnegie Club is the spot for you in Manhattan.
